Free deaf camps were conducted for handicapped, poor people and orphans

(a) The first free deaf camp was held on 13.08.2000 at Avvai Home, Chennai-600020 for 201 schoolgirls.

(b) The second free deaf camp was conducted on 24.06.2001 at Seva Samajam Children's Home, Taramani, Chennai-600113 for 196 students.

(c) The third deaf camp was held at IRID on the eve of formation of IRID on 26.01.2002 for133 people.

(d) The fourth free deaf camp was held for 40 Taxi drivers on 09.03.2002 at IRID, 

(e) The fifth free deaf camp was held on 16.03.2002 at Thiruthani (70 kilometers away from Chennai) for106 poor people.

(f) The sixth free deaf camp was held on 17.03.2002 at Thiruppathur (200 kilometers away from Chennai) for 295 poor people,

(g) The seventh free deaf camp was held again at Thiruppathur for128 poor people on 21.04.2002,

(h) The eighth free deaf camp was conducted at Andhra club, T. Nagar, Chennai-600017 for 61 poor people on 01.05.2002

 (i) The ninth deaf camp was conducted at CSI School for the Deaf, 12 Santhome High Road, Chennai-600004 for 65 deaf children on 30.05.02. Free deaf camps are conducted in many other places and schools.

Associate Organization:

Madras-India Regional Chapter of the Acoustical Society of America (MIRC-ASA) , Reg. No. 277/1995  is the first International chapter of ASA outside America and established by Prof. H. S. Paul with the guidance of ASA President, Dr. Stanley L. Ehrlich in 1995. ASA provides a) 80% of honorarium limited to $500 for 2-4 renowned Acousticians in Chapter's meetings, b) $200 to 5-6 best research scholars in chapter’s meeting who are below 30 years on 15 August of the year of award and first authors of the papers and c) $200 to 7-8 school students who are below 20 years on 15 August of the year of science and engineering fair based on written projects and presentation on Acoustics. Depending on deficit budget of chapter, ASA provides maintenance of the chapter up to $500. Please contact  Prof. H. S. Paul, Chapter Representative of MIRC-ASA for further information.
